Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Residential Care Officer to join our dedicated team at West Berkshire Council. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and comfort of our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the team of Care Practitioners and ensure the safe and smooth operation of the shift.
  • Assist with daily activities, promote independence, and maintain a safe environment, including undertaking medication administration.
  • Build positive relationships with residents, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning and reviews.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a similar care role, ideally within a care home setting.
  • A compassionate and empathetic nature, with a genuine desire to help others.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently.
  • A flexible approach to work, including availability for shift work and occasional weekends.
