Our inaugural facility, KYN BICKLEY, is designed to offer residents a sophisticated and cozy living space, featuring communal dining areas and serene outdoor spaces surrounded by nature. We are expanding with additional care homes in the London area.

About the Role

As a Junior Kitchen Chef, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the Head Chef and Sous Chef in ensuring the kitchen operates efficiently and consistently produces high-quality, nutritious meals for our residents.
  • Maintaining the presentation and preparation of dishes in accordance with KYN's high standards.
  • Upholding cleanliness and best practices within the kitchen environment.
  • Ensuring consistency in our culinary offerings and adhering to menu specifications.
  • Demonstrating organization and attention to detail to facilitate seamless service delivery.
  • Monitoring health and safety regulations and compliance to maintain standards in both kitchen and dining areas.
  • Ensuring the kitchen team follows all service standards in their tasks.
  • Receiving and managing deliveries of food supplies.
  • Executing mise-en-place in your designated work area to meet anticipated demands.
  • Conducting temperature checks on food and storage areas as required to comply with statutory regulations.
  • Maintaining high standards of personal appearance and work practices.
  • Reporting any damages, hazards, or maintenance issues within your work area.
  • Storing food items properly and in rotation to minimize waste, following company labeling and dating protocols.
  • Completing daily opening and closing checklists.
  • Ensuring a clean and orderly work environment in line with brand standards and legal requirements.
  • Adhering strictly to security and control procedures.
  • Striving to exceed expectations in every task undertaken.
  • Building relationships with residents to fully understand their needs.
  • Minimizing waste through effective stock rotation and portion control.
  • Ensuring proper storage and rotation of stock in compliance with KYN's policies and food safety regulations.
  • Possessing a solid understanding of health and safety as well as food safety practices in a kitchen setting.
  • Ensuring the kitchen is equipped with clean utensils, crockery, and necessary equipment.
  • Respecting residents' privacy and confidentiality at all times.
  • Leading by example and serving as a role model for the kitchen team in work ethic, service quality, and professional skills.
  • Communicating and collaborating effectively with key internal and external stakeholders.
