About KYN
KYN is a newly established care home organization dedicated to providing a superior approach to care: personalized experiences tailored to the needs and interests of our residents in exquisite environments enriched with meaningful activities.
Our inaugural facility, KYN BICKLEY, is designed to offer 86 residents elegant and comfortable accommodations, along with communal dining areas and serene outdoor spaces overlooking beautifully landscaped gardens. We are also in the process of developing three additional care homes in London.

About the Role
As an Assistant Kitchen Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the Head Chef in the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring the consistent preparation of high-quality, nutritious meals for our residents and their families.
- Collaborating with the Life Enriching Activity Lead and Coordinators to implement a holistic approach to meaningful engagement for all residents.
- Taking charge of the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence, upholding the established high standards.
- Ensuring all dishes are crafted and presented according to KYN's exceptional quality benchmarks.
- Maintaining rigorous cleanliness and best practices within the kitchen environment.
- Driving consistency in our culinary offerings and ensuring menus are executed as specified.
- Exhibiting strong organizational skills and attention to detail to facilitate seamless service delivery.
- Guiding the kitchen team to adhere to all service standards in their tasks.
- Monitoring health and safety compliance to uphold standards in both kitchen and dining areas.
- Educating team members about the menu and ingredients to effectively communicate with residents and their families.
- Striving to exceed expectations in every task undertaken.
- Building relationships with residents to fully understand their individual needs.
- Managing kitchen stock in the Head Chef's absence, ensuring proper inventory levels.
- Conducting regular audits to guarantee ingredient availability and investigating discrepancies.
- Ensuring proper storage and rotation of stock in line with KYN's policies and food safety regulations.
- Purchasing stock in accordance with KYN's procurement policies.
- Minimizing waste through effective stock rotation and portion control.
- Understanding departmental targets, including sales and profit margins.
- Controlling payroll costs by managing labor resources in line with business needs.
- Possessing a strong understanding of health and safety regulations within a kitchen setting.
- Coaching team members to maintain compliance with food safety management systems.
- Assisting the Head Chef in conducting thorough audits and addressing any highlighted issues promptly.
- Working alongside the Head Chef to ensure the team is trained in cleaning schedules and standards.
- Supporting the Head Chef in maintaining up-to-date risk assessments and standard operating procedures for food and beverage tasks.
- Ensuring accurate and secure management of residents' dietary requirements.
- Respecting residents' privacy and confidentiality at all times.
- Fostering a strong team dedicated to KYN's mission and vision.
- Building personal and professional relationships with all team members.
- Leading by example and serving as a role model in work ethic and service quality.
- Actively participating in the coaching and development of the kitchen team.
- Communicating effectively with key stakeholders.
- Creating a positive team environment that promotes morale and commitment.
About You
- Experience in a 4–5-star hospitality environment.
- A proven track record of maintaining high kitchen standards and a safe, compliant workspace.
- Strong communication skills and an approachable demeanor.
- A passion for driving standards that enhance the lives of our residents.
