We are seeking a motivated and suitably qualified Construction Delivery Manager - Mechanical to join our Technical Communities based in the South West of England. This exciting permanent opportunity will see you play a valuable role in the mega-infrastructure, Nuclear New Build project at Hinkley Point C (HPC).


Job Summary

The Construction Delivery Manager will assist in tactical logistics planning for individual works sections, supporting the delivery of strategic logistics. They will be responsible for detailed planning and implementation, collaborating with the HPC Delivery Team and Senior Construction Delivery Manager.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support contract partners in delivering works packages to ensure efficient delivery of their sections of works.
  • Recommend temporary measures to mitigate safety and/or quality concerns, taking appropriate action to avoid work cessation.
  • Monitor works on site, inputting into the construction daily report to ensure information is reported up to the Senior Construction Delivery Manager and escalating any issues/concerns via detailed reports.
  • Proactively communicate and coordinate with site teams (H&S, contract, project controls, logistics) and Construction Delivery Managers to maintain good communication links and ensure timely reporting.
  • Attend PLOD/PLOW meetings with the contractor, ensuring outputs are recorded and issued.
  • Undertake safety and/or assurance inspections to support project HSPI's.
  • Ensure clear, two-way communication with the Senior Construction Delivery Manager to direct all activity and issues appropriately.


Requirements

Essential

  • Experience and knowledge of construction sequencing, recovery plans, and resource allocation.
  • Good understanding of the post holder's obligations under CDM Regulations.
  • Working knowledge in the delivery of projects.
  • Ability to write informative, concise, and meaningful reports.
  • Motivate and energise contract partners by building a climate of trust and understanding.
  • Possess excellent organisation and communication skills.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Construction management, or equivalent vocational training and experience.
  • SMSTS or IOSH qualification holder.
  • Collaborate with other managers to effectively manage site operations.
  • Adopt a results-focussed mindset, using initiative to deliver excellence, value, and quality.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders.

Desirable

  • Experience of operating in a high security environment.
  • Experience within the Nuclear environment is advantageous but can be offset by experience within large Civil Engineering/Building/MEH projects.
