Vulcain Engineering Group is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Construction Delivery Manager - Mechanical to join our team in the South West of England. As a key member of our Technical Communities, you will play a vital role in supporting the UK Government's strategy of Net Zero by contributing to the mega-infrastructure project at Hinkley Point C (HPC).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the HPC Delivery Team and Senior Construction Delivery Manager to plan and implement construction projects.
  • Support contract partners in delivering works packages, ensuring efficient delivery and mitigating safety and quality concerns.
  • Monitor works on site, input into the construction daily report, and escalate issues via detailed reports.
  • Communicate and coordinate with site teams to maintain good communication links and ensure timely reporting.
  • Attend PLOD/PLOW meetings with the contractor, record outputs, and undertake safety and assurance inspections.
  • Ensure clear communication with the Senior Construction Delivery Manager to direct activity and issues appropriately.

Requirements:

  • Experience in construction sequencing, recovery plans, and resource allocation.
  • Working knowledge in project delivery.
  • Motivate and energize contract partners by building trust and understanding.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Construction management, or equivalent vocational training and experience.
  • SMSTS or IOSH qualification holder.
  • Results-focused mindset, using initiative and taking personal responsibility to deliver excellence, value, and quality.
  • Experience within the Nuclear environment is advantageous, but can be offset by experience in large Civil Engineering/Building/MEH projects.
