Vulcain Engineering Group is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Construction Delivery Manager - Mechanical to join our team in the South West of England. As a key member of our Technical Communities, you will play a vital role in supporting the UK Government's strategy of Net Zero.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting tactical logistics planning for individual works sections, collaborating with the HPC Delivery Team and Senior Construction Delivery Manager to ensure efficient delivery of works packages. You will also be responsible for recommending temporary measures to mitigate against safety and/or quality concerns, monitoring works on site, and inputting into the construction daily report.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support contract partners in delivering works packages to enable efficient delivery of their sections of works.
  • Recommend temporary measures to mitigate against safety and/or quality concerns.
  • Monitor works on site and input into the construction daily report to ensure information is reported up through the organisation.
  • Proactively communicate/co-ordinate with other site teams and Construction Delivery Managers to maintain good communication links.
  • Attend PLOD/PLOW meetings with the contractor and ensure outputs are recorded and issued.
  • Ensure clear, two-way communication with the Senior Construction Delivery Manager.

Requirements

Essential

  • Experience and knowledge of construction sequencing, recovery plans, and resource allocation.
  • Working knowledge in the delivery of projects.
  • Motivate and energise contract partners by building a climate of trust and understanding.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Construction management, or equivalent vocational training and experience.
  • SMSTS or IOSH qualification holder.
  • Adopt a results-focused mindset, using initiative wherever possible.
