Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Nurse to join our team as a Lead Nurse Specialist for Gynaecology Oncology at Colchester Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing support to patients with gynaecological cancer.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing an effective and efficient service for patients in the Mid Anglia area in collaboration with other members of the network multi-professional team.
  • Ensuring the provision of high-quality evidence-based care, including the support of relatives and carers and education of the multi-professional team in the principles of managing patients with cancer.
  • Providing excellent specialist clinical care and advice for patients, relatives, carers, and healthcare professionals.
  • Improving and maintaining standards of care within the specialty in line with the cancer plan and NICE guidance.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven post-registration experience in oncology/gynaecology nursing at senior level (at least Band 6).
  • Clinical experience in oncology/gynaecology nursing.
  • Essential qualifications: RN, ENB 237, 998 or equivalent 1st Level Degree or working towards.
  • Expert knowledge of cancer pathways.
