Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Nurse to join our team as a Lead Nurse Specialist for Gynaecology Oncology at Colchester Hospital. As a key member of our multi-professional team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing support to Gynaecological cancer patients.

About the Role

This is a part-time, 30 hours per week, fixed-term/secondment contract post until 30th November 2025. You will work alongside our lead consultant to develop and implement effective, streamlined, and efficient services for patients in the Mid Anglia area, in line with national Improving Outcomes Guidance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain high-quality, evidence-based care for patients, relatives, and carers.
  • Provide excellent specialist clinical care and advice for patients, relatives, carers, and healthcare professionals.
  • Improve and maintain standards of care within the specialty, in line with the Cancer Plan and NICE guidance.
  • Collaborate with other members of the network multi-professional team to develop and implement effective services for patients.

Person Specification

We are looking for a Nurse with:

  • Proven post-registration experience in oncology/gynaecology nursing at senior level (Band 6).
  • Expert knowledge of cancer pathways.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective services.
