Job Title: Acute Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Acute Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Acute Oncology Service, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our service.

About the Role

As an Acute Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for providing expert clinical care to patients with complex needs, working closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care pathways.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert clinical care to patients with complex needs, including those with complications of chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
  • Work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care pathways and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development of our Acute Oncology Service, including service improvement initiatives and quality assurance activities.
  • Support the Malignancy of Unknown Origin (MUO) Service Delivery and manage the Sarcoma caseload.

Person Specification

  • Proven experience in Haematology care/oncology, with significant experience at Band 6 or above within the Acute Oncology Service.
  • Participation in service development and implementation of change, with experience of teaching and assessing in the clinical area.
  • Experience of developing and undertaking audit, with evidence of supporting others within the clinical environment.
  • Experience with QSIS (Peer review) and previous Band 7/CNS experience.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse, with a Master's degree or evidence of some education at postgraduate level or willingness to complete.
  • Advanced Communication Course, Psychological Distress training, and Cancer-related module or related qualification.
