Unlocking Opportunities in Health and Social Care Research

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Fellow to join our team at the University of Birmingham. As a Research Fellow, you will play a vital role in undertaking a specified range of activities within a specific research project funded by the NIHR School for Social Care Research.

About the Role

This is a joint research project between the University of Birmingham and the rights-based organisation, Changing Our Lives. The project aims to create and contribute to the creation of knowledge about people with learning disabilities and/or autistic people who leave 'long-stay' hospital settings and their journey towards leading ordinary lives in the community.

Main Responsibilities
  • Analyse and interpret data, including qualitative and quantitative data around service costs and people's community connections
  • Apply knowledge in a way that develops new intellectual understanding and contributes to writing up findings for various audiences
  • Disseminate research findings through publication, research seminars, practice workshops, and other channels
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A first degree in an area related to the project and normally, a higher degree relevant to the research area or equivalent qualifications
  • High level analytical capability and ability to communicate complex information clearly
  • Experience of health and social care research, particularly in working on projects related to the care and support needs of people with learning disabilities
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is £41,421 per annum, depending on prior experience. We offer a competitive benefits package, including access to professional development opportunities and a supportive working environment.
