At University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust, we are seeking a highly skilled Water Safety Specialist to join our Estates and Facilities team. About the Role

The successful candidate will work closely with Estates colleagues and client teams across the Trusts and its partner organisations contributing to the overall management of Water Safety projects, Policies/Procedures, and Water Safety improvement initiatives. The role will be responsible for ensuring staff, patients and visitors are able to deliver/receive the required level of care in a safe and appropriate Healthcare environment.

Main Duties:
  1. Act as Appointed Person for water, ensuring experience, skills and training are up-to-date and in accordance with industry recommendations.
  2. Chair Water Safety Group meetings, monitor and manage Action Plans, and provide written verbal updates for Health & Safety Committees.
  3. Provide support to the General Manager of Estates & Facilities in the efforts of Water Safety monitoring, management and improvements.
  4. Ensure compliance with current statutory requirements, codes of practice and Trust policies and procedures, Water Code and other guidance e.g. HTM and HBN suite of documents, Regulatory Reform (Water Safety) Order 2005, Building Regulations, British Standards and European Directives etc.
  5. Identify Trust status regarding compliance with current water legislation and guidance, escalate non-conformities, and put in place corrective actions and forecast resources required.
