We are recruiting a Hygiene Services Manager to join our Estates and Facilities team at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients, staff and visitors.

About the Role

You will work closely with Estates colleagues and client teams across the Trusts and its partner organisations to manage Water Safety projects, policies and procedures, and improve water safety standards. You will also be responsible for chairing Water Safety Group meetings and providing written verbal updates for Health & Safety Committees.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Act as Appointed Person for water, ensuring that all necessary experience, skills and training are up-to-date and in line with industry recommendations.
  2. Develop and implement effective water safety strategies to ensure compliance with current statutory requirements, codes of practice and Trust policies and procedures.
  3. Work closely with the General Manager of Estates & Facilities to monitor and manage water safety issues and develop plans to address them.
  4. Ensure that regulatory bodies are informed of any work that may affect the water safety of any building and that modifications to water systems are comprehensively commissioned and documented.
