Environmental Director for Infrastructure Development

We are seeking an experienced Technical Director to lead our Environment & Sustainability business in delivering infrastructure development projects that transform our world and help the UK achieve its net zero goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead multidisciplinary environmental inputs to large-scale development projects, including energy generation, energy distribution, strategic national and regional rail projects, highway improvements, and regeneration projects.
  • Develop and implement environmental strategies, including the technical review and verification of environment report inputs, and directing staff resources and budgets.
  • Collaborate with integrated design teams to identify environmental constraints, avoid impacts, and develop solutions in accordance with the mitigation hierarchy.
  • Promote AECOM's environmental services to both internal and external audiences.

As a Technical Director, you will have the opportunity to work across a portfolio of development projects covering multiple consenting regimes and play an instrumental role in helping to seek out and secure new commissions.

We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of the EIA processes, environmental assessment methods, and excellent verbal and report writing skills. A degree in a relevant environmental discipline and an appropriate professional membership are also required.
