Consultant Psychiatrist in Learning Disability

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Bed Flow Team at Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to develop and improve our acute/urgent care services, working closely with patients, families, and carers.
Main Responsibilities- Collaborate with the patient flow team to review admission requests across the Trust.
- Work with adult inpatient teams to identify patients for discharge, providing constructive challenge where necessary.
- Conduct one-off reviews of patients to provide a second opinion on management, particularly for those with long lengths of stay.
- Contribute to the development of clear and efficient pathways for admission and discharge.
- Attend daily patient flow meetings, providing clinical oversight and prioritizing admissions based on risk.

Requirements- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
- Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research, or management.
- CCT in Psychiatry or inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register in psychiatry.
- Experience in working with complex and high-risk presentations, including complex EUPD and dual diagnosis.
- Ability to deliver undergraduate or postgraduate teaching and training.
- Participation in continuous professional development, research, or service evaluation.
- Mentoring support for new Consultants.
- Dedicated support for leadership development.
- Access to state-of-the-art simulation training facilities.
- Study leave of 30 days over 3 years.
- Study leave budget of £800 per person per annum.
- Generous relocation package up to £7.5K.
