Consultant Psychiatrist

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Bed Flow Team at Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and improvement of our acute/urgent care services.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with the patient flow team to review requests for admission across the Trust.
- Collaborate with adult inpatient teams to identify patients who can be discharged, providing constructive challenge where necessary.
- Conduct reviews of specific patients on a one-off basis, providing a second opinion on management for inpatients with a long length of stay.
- Contribute to the review of pathways for admission/discharge to ensure they are clear and efficient.
- Attend daily patient flow meetings and provide clinical oversight in decision making, including prioritization for admission based on risks.

We are looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist with the following qualifications and experience:
- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
- MRCPsych or equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
- Experience of the full range of clinical responsibilities expected of a consultant in General Adult Psychiatry.
- Experience of close collaborative working with social care and other agencies.
- Excellent clinical skills using a bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
