Exeter, Devon, United Kingdom Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Job Summary

As a Clinical Nurse Manager at the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust, you will have the opportunity to lead a team of experienced nurses in providing specialist rehabilitation programmes for individuals with neurological conditions. Our purpose-built, specialist inpatient unit is located near the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital (Wonford) site.

As a dynamic and highly organised individual with excellent clinical skills, you will work alongside the Multi-Disciplinary Team to deliver nursing care with a rehabilitation ethos. We are looking for someone who can demonstrate autonomous working and problem-solving skills.

About the Role

The overall job purpose of the Clinical Nurse Manager is to have continuous 24-hour responsibility for leading and coordinating the clinical, managerial, and educational requirements of the clinical area.

As a leader, you will act as an expert resource and role model for the Unit team to support them in the delivery of effective care. You will be responsible for ensuring an environment in which all patients and carers receive a high standard of care, which is compassionate and takes account of their individual needs and wishes.

You will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality, safe patient care as well as timely patient admissions and discharges. You will need to have experience of providing clinical supervision and people management.

The successful candidate will be part of an integrated team who work flexibly together to achieve the best outcomes for individuals. You will receive regular clinical and managerial support and supervision, and benefit from both formal and informal learning opportunities.

Benefits

We strive to help our staff create a healthy work-life balance through flexible working schemes and our family-friendly policies. You will benefit from access to our own comprehensive occupational health services, including counselling, onsite wellbeing activities, and groups.

We will work together to maintain a culture that develops and supports you and your team. This might include funding for a care certificate, a degree, or leadership qualifications. Or it might include days off to study, engage in CPD, or rotational placements to help you hone your skills.

Salary is not the only financial benefit. You will have access to an extensive range of staff discounts on shopping, fitness, and leisure options, and you can spread the cost of technology and home appliance purchases from major retailers.

We are an inclusive employer, and the Royal Devon values diversity and is committed to creating a culture of inclusivity where everyone can be themselves and reach their full potential. We believe in fostering a sense of belonging and actively encourage applications from individuals of all backgrounds, cultures, and abilities.

We recognise the advantages of having a diverse workforce that reflects the communities we serve. Preference will be given to staff with 'Priority' and 'At Risk' status, including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon.

The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust was established in April 2022, bringing together the expertise of both the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust and Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust. We are the largest employer in Devon, with a workforce of over 8,000 staff, covering more than 2,400 square miles across the region.

Our core services cover emergency, specialist, and general medical services through North Devon District Hospital and the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital (Wonford). We deliver integrated health and social care services across various settings, including community inpatient hospitals, outpatient clinics, and within people's own homes.

We also offer primary care services, a range of specialist community services, and Sexual Assault Referral Centres (SARC). Our state-of-the-art equipment, leading technologies, and strong links to local universities put us at the forefront of research and innovations, enabling us to provide world-class care to our local communities.

Our values are at the heart of everything we do. We strive to provide care that is compassionate, person-centred, and focused on delivering high-quality outcomes.

Join us in shaping our services as we continue along our integration journey, and help us deliver exceptional care to our patients and communities.

About Us

We are committed to fostering a culture of inclusivity, respect, and empathy. Our values guide our decisions and actions, ensuring that we provide care that is safe, effective, and person-centred.

We believe in the importance of teamwork, collaboration, and open communication. Our staff are our greatest asset, and we strive to provide them with the support, training, and resources they need to excel in their roles.

Our commitment to quality, safety, and patient experience is unwavering. We continuously evaluate and improve our services, using evidence-based practice and innovative solutions to address the complex needs of our patients and communities.

We are proud to be an inclusive employer, committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion. We believe that everyone deserves equal opportunities and treatment, regardless of their background, culture, or ability.

We are dedicated to providing care that is accessible, responsive, and tailored to the needs of our patients and communities. We strive to deliver high-quality services that meet the needs of our patients, their families, and carers.

Our commitment to research and innovation is ongoing. We work closely with local universities, research institutions, and industry partners to develop new treatments, technologies, and care pathways that improve patient outcomes and experiences.

We are proud to be part of the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, a unique partnership between the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust and Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust. Together, we form a single organisation, united by our shared values and commitment to delivering high-quality care to our patients and communities.
