Assistant Hospitality Manager

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Hospitality Manager to join our team at Sodexo. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for overseeing the food and beverage operations, as well as managing the finances for our school's kitchen.
Your primary focus will be on ensuring that the food and level of service are of the highest quality, and that our school catering is among the best in the region. You will be the person that our team looks up to for direction and support, and your attitude will play a significant role in fostering a vibrant and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Attend all hospitality meetings and ensure that all necessary actions are taken.
- Generate and record all charges for ad hoc services, and enter events into the catering diary and calendar.
- Set up and serve at all hospitality events, and arrange sufficient staffing to ensure smooth operations.
- Liaise with the catering manager and head chef to ensure seamless event execution.
- Input invoices and stock into the Sodexo accounting system, and maintain accurate records.
- Take notes at food forums, disciplinary, grievance, and investigation meetings as requested.
- Complete all administrative tasks, including filing, shredding, and photocopying, in a timely manner.
- Ensure that all food is prepared with due care and attention, particularly for customers with special dietary requirements.
- Complete all required paperwork correctly, legibly, and in a timely manner, with due consideration for confidentiality.
- Attend training sessions relevant to the role, and undertake any reasonable requests made by management to maintain high service standards.
- Deputise for the catering manager in their absence, and communicate with suppliers to ensure smooth operations.
- Participate in lunch service, serving customers during busy periods.
- Proven expertise in cooking for large groups, with experience in managing food preparation and presentation.
- Previous experience in supervising staff or managing a team, with a focus on customer service and quality.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Basic food handling skills certification, with a minimum of one year's experience in a similar role.
- Competitive hourly rate.
- 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 07:00 to 16:00.
