Assistant Hospitality Manager

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Hospitality Manager to join our team at Sodexo. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for overseeing the food and beverage operations, as well as managing the finances for our school's kitchen.
Key Responsibilities- Attend all hospitality meetings and ensure that all aspects of the food and beverage operations are running smoothly.
- Generate and record all charges for ad hoc services, and enter events into the catering diary and calendar.
- Set up and serve at all hospitality events, and arrange sufficient staffing to facilitate smooth running of events.
- Liaise with the catering manager and head chef to ensure seamless event execution.
- Input invoices and stock into the Sodexo computerized accounting system, and input Kronos information into the Sodexo computerized system.
- Take notes at food forums, disciplinary, grievance, and investigation meetings as requested.
- Complete filing, shredding, and photocopying in a timely manner, and ensure all food is prepared with due care and attention.
- Complete all administration in compliance with environment, health, and safety, and food regulations.
- Attend training sessions relevant to the post, and undertake any reasonable requests made by management to maintain the overall service standard.
- Ensure confidentiality and timelines are adhered to, and deputize in the catering manager's absence.
- Communicate with suppliers relevant to hospitality to ensure smooth running of site alcohol and linen orders.
- Take part in lunch service, serving customers during busy periods.
- Must have expertise in cooking on a large scale, with experience following recipes in a similar setting.
- Have previous staff supervision experience or line management experience.
- Have experience working with fresh produce and ingredients, and be aware of the importance of adhering to health and safety procedures.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines in a busy kitchen environment.
- Be professional, leading by example, and having a positive outlook is key.
- Hold basic food handling skills certification, including NVQ Level 2, Level 2 Food Safety Certificate, and a minimum of 1 year's experience in hands-on cooking, training on food hygiene, and health and safety.
