Residential Care Lead

Location: Belfast, Northern Ireland

Estimated Salary: £13.03 - £13.13 per hour

About the Role
  • Main Responsibilities:
    • Develop and implement comprehensive care strategies for residents, prioritising their unique needs and preferences.
    • Regularly review and refine care strategies to ensure exceptional service delivery and high standards.
    • Provide support with personal care tasks, promoting resident autonomy and dignity.
    • Plan and lead engaging activities to foster resident participation and enjoyment.
    • Safely administer medications and adhere to established policies.
    • Oversee daily operations, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all.
  • Leadership and Training:
    • Guide and support staff in their professional development and growth.
    • Model effective leadership behaviours, inspiring staff to deliver outstanding care.
    • Participate in QCF assessments and training initiatives.
    • Support daily prayers and spiritual activities.
    • Ensure adherence to rules, regulations, and reporting mechanisms.
    • Facilitate staff training and professional development opportunities.
  • Administration:
    • Efficiently manage enquiries and administrative tasks.
    • Maintain accurate and confidential records.
  • Additional Duties:
    • Coordinate daily devotions and spiritual events.
    • Collaborate with local clergy to develop the spiritual programme.
    • Participate in staff/resident/relative meetings, aligning with the care philosophy.
    • Perform other duties as directed by management.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications and Knowledge:
    • A minimum of NVQ/QCF Level 2 Award in Health and Social Care, with a commitment to progressing to Level 3.
    • Familiarity with relevant legislation governing residential care settings.
  • Relevant Experience:
    • A minimum of 2 years experience caring for older people, individuals with disabilities, or mental health needs.
    • COMPETENCY IN MEDICATION ADMINISTRATION OR COMMITMENT TO OBTAIN THIS WITHIN 4 WEEKS OF EMPLOYMENT.
  • Personal Attributes:
    • Exceptional organisational and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
    • Strong leadership and communication skills.
    • Capacity to maintain precise records.
