Role Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Lead to join our team at Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Maternity Service, you will be responsible for leading the clinical operations of the midwifery staff within the service. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Registered Midwife to take on a leadership role and make a real difference in the lives of our patients and families.

Responsibilities

As a Clinical Lead, your responsibilities will include:
  • Leading the day-to-day management of the midwifery staff within the service.
  • Ensuring the highest possible care standards in the Triage, Day Assessment Unit, and Fetal Medicine Unit.
  • Liaising with other areas of Maternity, Neonatal Unit team, and the wider Division of Women's, LMS, and ICS.
  • Maintaining the quality of the clinical environment.
  • Fostering a positive working relationship with commissioning partners.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a strong background in midwifery, with extensive experience in line managing teams. You should also have honours level degree in Midwifery or equivalent, as well as a mentorship course/qualification. A master's degree and evidence of leadership course/module completion are desirable. You will also need to be able to manage complex operational problems and apply problem-solving techniques to gain a successful outcome.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is £62,000 - £72,000 per annum, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including pension scheme, life insurance, and access to training and development opportunities.
