Widener University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the School of Business Administration, specializing in Event Management.

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, conducting research, and contributing to service activities within the department, college, and community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach a range of courses in event management, including but not limited to event planning, event marketing, event risk management, and special event production.
  • Develop and deliver innovative and engaging course content that meets the needs of diverse learners.
  • Conduct high-quality research in the field of event management and in secondary areas such as marketing, management, or project management, leading to publications in reputable academic journals.

Requirements:

  • A Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in Event Management, Hospitality Management, Tourism Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Management, Project Management, or a closely related field from an accredited institution by the time of appointment.
  • Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Evidence of an active research agenda with a focus on event management and secondary areas such as marketing, sports marketing or sports management, management, project management, or a related field, including publications and presentations.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
