About the Job

We are searching for an experienced academic professional to fill the role of Assistant Professor, Mechanical Engineering at Widener University's School of Engineering. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with expertise in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in mechanical engineering subjects, including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer.
  2. Conduct scholarly research in the field of mechanical engineering, with a focus on manufacturing and AI.
  3. Engage in departmental, school, and university service activities, including committee work, student advising, and other service responsibilities.
  4. Develop and implement innovative teaching methods and assessment techniques to enhance student learning outcomes.
Requirements
  • A Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited institution is required.
  • Prior teaching experience in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and fundamental engineering courses is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct impactful research, with a record of scholarly publications in reputable journals and conferences, is essential.
  • Proven ability or potential to secure external funding to support research initiatives is also required.
What We Offer
