Are you ready to drive innovation in the energy sector? VisNet, part of the EA Technology group, is at the forefront of designing and manufacturing LV monitoring and fault restoration products, supporting Electricity Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) as they transition to Net Zero. Our cutting-edge solutions power the future by enabling electric vehicle adoption and low-carbon heating solutions. As our business grows rapidly, we’re looking for a talented Product Compliance and Approvals Engineer to help shape the future of energy networks.
About the Role:
As a Product Compliance and Approvals Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring our products meet all regulatory and legislative requirements across global markets. You'll work closely with a cross-functional team of engineers, from electronic to software and data systems, bringing your expertise to ensure compliance throughout the entire product lifecycle—from specification to manufacture, certification, and deployment.
This role is perfect for an experienced and proactive compliance engineer who is passionate about quality, process improvement, and regulatory compliance. You’ll have the opportunity to work with industry-leading technology and help bring our revolutionary products to markets worldwide.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure product compliance with mandatory approvals and legislative standards across relevant regions, including FCC, UL, CE, LVD, EMC, RoHS, REACH, and more.
- Manage and coordinate test programs with external suppliers and testing organizations to ensure smooth and efficient certification processes.
- Collaborate with development teams to specify necessary standards during new product development and ensure approvals are met.
- Develop and maintain technical files for all products, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
- Identify and mitigate compliance risks, ensuring they are effectively communicated and acted upon.
- Stay ahead of global regulatory changes and standards updates, ensuring smooth implementation into our product development process.
- Provide expertise and education to project teams on product standards, codes, and regional certification implications.
What You’ll Bring:
- Extensive engineering experience in product compliance, approvals, and the application of codes and standards.
- Strong ability to read product design drawings and technical documentation with a solid understanding of electronic, electro-mechanical, and mechanical design.
- In-depth knowledge of product compliance regulations and standards across global markets.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving compliance issues.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex compliance requirements to cross-functional teams.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities, working autonomously with minimal supervision.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with EMC testing (Emissions/Immunity) on industrial products.
- Ability to conduct electrical and mechanical testing as required.
- Knowledge of the electricity industry and related standards.
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards it.
Why Join EA VisNet?
This is a rare opportunity to join a fast-growing business that is transforming the energy sector. At VisNet, you’ll have the chance to work with cutting-edge technology, collaborate with world-class engineers, and make a meaningful impact on the future of electricity distribution. We offer:
- Competitive salary and performance-based bonus.
