About the Role

We are seeking a highly qualified Associate Professor of Counselor Education and Graduate Program Director to join our team at Widener University.

This is a 10-month non-tenure track position that reports to the Director of the Center for Social Work education.

The successful candidate will have graduated with a doctoral degree; a master's degree in Counselor Education or a related field from an accredited college or university is required. Experience, qualifications, and record of teaching excellence and scholarship for faculty appointment at the Associate Professor rank are essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as graduate program director including collaboration with Graduate Admissions and Enrollment regarding recruitment and admission of students in the Master of Counselor Education Program.
  • Teach courses on campus and online, provide leadership in course development and implementation, and demonstrate effectiveness in teaching and student assessment.
  • Maintain currency in the academic discipline through continuing study, professional development, and/or participation in professional activities, and pursue service and leadership opportunities within the Program, Center, College, University, and profession.
Requirements
  • A master's degree in Counselor Education or a related field from an accredited college or university is required.
  • A doctoral degree in Counselor Education or a related field from an accredited college or university is preferred.
  • Experience in higher education in recruitment and retention of students is essential.

Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience.
