We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to join our faculty as a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Event Studies in the School of Business Administration at Widener University.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in event management, with expertise in teaching and research in this area. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering innovative course content, conducting research, and contributing to service activities within the department, college, and community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in event management, including event planning, event marketing, event risk management, and special event production.
  • Develop and implement experiential learning projects and internships that provide students with hands-on experience in the event industry.
  • Conduct high-quality research in the field of event management, leading to publications in reputable academic journals.

Requirements:

  • A Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in Event Management, Hospitality Management, Tourism Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Management, Project Management, or a closely related field from an accredited institution by the time of appointment.
  • Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Evidence of an active research agenda with a focus on event management and secondary areas such as marketing, sports marketing or sports management, management, project management, or a related field, including publications and presentations.

Estimated Salary: $140,000 - $170,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
