Job Title: Product Stewardship Director
Job Summary/Purpose:
The Product Stewardship Director will lead the definition, development, and deployment of the Product Stewardship program by providing vision and leadership, defining clear governance and clear roles and responsibilities as well as routines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Product Stewardship Governance Committee to ensure proper governance of product stewardship.
- Develop and maintain a register of all major chemical management regulations that impact or have the potential to impact the Imerys product portfolio in the geographies and applications they serve.
- Proactively track and understand the impact of global chemical management regulations and communicate the potential implications for key internal stakeholders (Product Managers, Business Area SVPs, S&T Leaders, Commercial Leaders) well in advance of their coming into force.
- Provide regular updates on emerging regulations to the Product Stewardship community.
- Guide Product Stewardship Directors and Managers in the development and delivery of regulatory strategies in support of their Business Area business activities to manage risk and support business continuity and growth.
- Coordinate global chemical compliance activities (registrations, notifications, exemptions) for new and existing substances.
- Serve as the company's global expert in chemical management regulations that have broad, transversal impact such as EU REACH and other emerging REACH-like regulations (Korea, Turkey, Taiwan).
- Lead or support key Product Stewardship functional excellence projects focused on instilling best practice throughout the organization through the leveraging of effective processes, systems, policies, and tools.
- Support the Global Product Stewardship Director and regional Product Stewardship Directors with resourcing and budget planning to manage the implementation of regulations for individual Business Areas and at the Corporate level.
- Participate in external industry association Technical Boards, Working Groups, and Committees as appropriate where skills/knowledge/experience can be best leveraged for Industry and Imerys impact.
Requirements:
- Degree, Master's, or PhD in a relevant scientific discipline.
- 15+ years of work experience in a relevant technical field.
- Toxicology/Regulatory Compliance Professional, R&D Chemist, Engineer.
Key Competencies:
- Seasoned technical practitioner with substantial product stewardship and/or product regulatory experience.
- Expert in chemical management regulations impacting global markets/geographies.
- Good knowledge of systems/tools used to facilitate product regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrated management, leadership, and coordination skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to connect both internally and externally.
- Demonstrated capability to deliver results with a sense of urgency in a challenging environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to react flexibly in fast-changing situations.
- Broad knowledge of Imerys products/markets and good business acumen.
