Patient Transport Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Transport Specialist to join our team in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire.
This is a full-time position involving variable shifts, working 37.5 hours per week on a 5 x 8 hour schedule covering Monday to Saturday.
About the Role
As a Patient Transport Specialist, you will play a vital role in transporting patients to and from medical appointments and between healthcare facilities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Transporting elderly, sick, and vulnerable service users, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the journey.
- Assisting with 'end of life' care, providing empathy and support to patients and their families.
- Lifting, securing, and assisting patients in and out of ambulances.
- Communicating effectively with patients, relatives, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless transitions.
- Managing challenging behaviors and mental health issues in a safe and respectful manner.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you must be:
- Committed to patient care and safety.
- An effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
- A calm and considerate driver with a valid UK driving license.
- Able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Physically fit for lifting and moving patients.
- Possess an Enhanced DBS check.
- Available to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends.
