About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Coroner Support Specialist at Durham County Council. As a Coroner Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to the coroner service, managing coronial inquests, and working with a team of investigating Coroner Officers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the coroner service.
  • Manage coronial inquests, including remote attendees in Court.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records of inquests and hearings.
  • Liaise with bereaved families, interested persons, witnesses, members of the public and press.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 4 GCSEs (Grades 4-9 or A*-C including English Language or Literature) or equivalent.
  • NVQ level 2 in Business Administration or related qualification.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain confidentiality.
