Job Title: National Transfer Scheme Business Support Officer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Support Officer to join our Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Childrens Service team at Kent County Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the National Transfer Scheme (NTS) in Kent, working closely with the NTS Co-ordinator to provide administrative support and ensure the timely transfer of unaccompanied asylum-seeking children from the care of Kent County Council to other local authorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the NTS Co-ordinator, ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the NTS in Kent.
  • Assist in the coordination of the transfer of unaccompanied asylum-seeking children, ensuring that all necessary documentation is completed and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with other local authorities, stakeholders, and professionals to ensure the successful transfer of children.
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to queries and concerns from professionals, members of the public, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple deadlines.
  • Confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information.
