Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Support Specialist to join our team at Kent County Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the National Transfer Scheme (NTS) in Kent, working closely with the NTS Co-ordinator to ensure the timely and safe transfer of unaccompanied asylum-seeking children from the care of Kent County Council to other local authorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the NTS Co-ordinator in the day-to-day functioning of the NTS, ensuring that all transfers are processed efficiently and effectively.
- Provide excellent customer service to professionals and members of the public, responding to requests for support and ensuring that these are passed on to the most appropriate service for ongoing support and intervention.
- Deal with highly sensitive and confidential information, maintaining the highest level of discretion and professionalism at all times.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve team goals and objectives, contributing to a positive and supportive team environment.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including local authorities, social services, and other partner agencies.
Requirements
- Excellent IT skills, with experience of using a range of software applications, including Microsoft Office.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and members of the public.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple deadlines.
- High level of discretion and professionalism, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
