Job Title: National Transfer Scheme Business Support Officer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Support Officer to join our team at Kent County Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the National Transfer Scheme (NTS) in Kent, working closely with the NTS Co-ordinator to ensure the safe and timely transfer of unaccompanied asylum-seeking children from the care of Kent County Council to other local authorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the NTS Co-ordinator in the day-to-day functioning of the NTS
  • Provide administrative support to the team, including data entry, record-keeping, and reporting
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with professionals and members of the public, including those from other local authorities and external agencies
  • Deal with highly sensitive and confidential information, maintaining confidentiality and discretion at all times
  • Work under pressure in a fast-paced office environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple deadlines

Requirements:

  • Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with ability to think critically and creatively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and external partners
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach
  • Basic Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service required
