About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Health and Safety Professional to join our team at Laing O'Rourke, a leading engineering and construction specialist. As a key member of our HSE team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of our project teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide robust health and safety advice to project teams and stakeholders.
  • Support the Health and Safety Manager in ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and legislation.
  • Conduct inspections and audits of projects and offices to identify hazards and deficiencies.
  • Investigate incidents and produce comprehensive reports to address underlying issues.
  • Monitor compliance with the BYLOR Safety Management Systems (SMS) and identify corrective action where required.
Essential Skills and Knowledge
  • Proven experience in the construction industry with a strong understanding of health and safety legislation.
  • Relevant industry-recognised qualifications, such as IOSH Managing Safely in Construction or SMSTS.
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills to support project teams in key HSE project risks.
  • A good understanding of relevant HS&E legislation and the ability to interpret requirements.
