Job Title: Facilitator (IMPACT Centre)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilitator to join our team at the IMPACT Centre. As a Facilitator, you will play a key role in reviewing and synthesizing evidence on a specific topic, co-designing and delivering an evidence-informed improvement project, and participating in our internal evaluation.

About the Role

This is a part-time (50% FTE) fixed-term position for 12 months. The successful candidate will be based in a host organization (one post in Edinburgh and one post in Aberdeen) and will work closely with our national Facilitator lead. You will have the opportunity to work with a range of stakeholders, including people and communities, practitioners, managers, academics, and policy makers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and synthesize evidence on a specific topic, including research, lived experience, and practice knowledge.
  • Co-design and deliver an evidence-informed improvement project, working closely with stakeholders and the host organization.
  • Participate in our internal evaluation, sharing learning and best practices with the team.
  • Share lessons learned with others, supporting the embedding of evidence-informed approaches in policy and practice across the UK.
  • Work collaboratively with a fellow Facilitator to evaluate the impact of their project, and vice versa.
  • Ensure that the project applies evidence research, practice knowledge, and lived experience, meets the needs of the host organization, and engages extensively with key stakeholders.
  • Champion and operationalize IMPACT's commitment to co-production, equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Essential Criteria
  • First degree of a good standard relevant to this area of practice, or equivalent professional qualification, or sufficient experience to demonstrate connected knowledge and skills.
  • Understanding of public policy, public services, front-line practice, and/or the realities of people's lives, including factors that enable or prevent change in such settings.
  • Experience of applied research and/or the implementation of innovation/new ways of working within a social care or related area of practice and policy.
  • Strong commitment to the principles of co-production and to embedding these in all aspects of work.
  • Excellent presentation skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to communicate effectively with a range of different social care stakeholders.
  • High level of personal organization and motivation.
  • Collaborative and flexible approach to work and excellent inter-personal skills.
  • Awareness of personal strengths and weaknesses and an ability to work reflexively.
