Training and Development Specialist

As a Training and Development Specialist in vocational education, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of professionals. This dynamic position requires an individual who can effectively teach practical and theoretical lessons, mentoring and assessing students in a real-world setting.
Main Responsibilities:
- Coordinate vocational study programme delivery, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning that meets the needs of our students.
- Deliver teaching and assessing in a designated vocational area, preparing engaging materials and schemes of work that cater to diverse learning styles.
- Monitor student progress, reporting on attendance and results, and maintaining accurate records to inform future improvements.
- Maintain good order in the teaching environment, adhering to safeguarding and health and safety protocols, and promoting a culture of respect and inclusivity.
- Visit students in their workplaces, setting targets and monitoring progress, and providing constructive feedback to support their development.
- Assist with induction programmes, meetings with students, and pastoral support, ensuring that every student feels valued and supported throughout their journey.
- Promote English and Maths provision, attending relevant meetings and events, and working collaboratively with colleagues to develop effective strategies for improving outcomes.
- Contribute to departmental administration, including marking registers and producing reports, and completing mandatory Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to stay up-to-date with industry best practices.
- Undertake occasional evening and weekend work, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to delivering exceptional results.
- Comply with legislation and college policies, including safeguarding, health and safety, and GDPR, and maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Take responsibility for personal learning and development, embracing opportunities for growth and improvement, and promoting equality of opportunity in all aspects of college life.
