Job Title: Medical and Surgical Ward Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical and Surgical Ward Nurse to join our team at James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of excellent patient outcomes.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Assess patient care needs and develop, implement, and evaluate programs of care.
  • Ensure that agreed standards of nursing practice are maintained within the ward/department area.
  • Adhere to Trust, Divisional, and Ward/Department Health & Safety Policies.
  • Maintain personal contact with patients, other healthcare disciplines, relatives, and visitors.
  • Mentor and support new staff and student nurses.
  • Undertake enhanced roles following necessary training.
  • Ensure safe custody and administration of drugs in accordance with Trust Policy.
Person Specification:
  • Registered General Nurse with NMC qualification.
  • PARE Mentorship, teaching, and assessing qualification (desirable).
Requirements:
  • 2 years nursing experience minimum in an acute hospital setting.
  • Experience of working in teams under appropriate supervision as part of the multi-disciplinary team.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Experience of working autonomously and within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Insight into evaluating own strengths and development needs, seeking advice where appropriate.
  • Evidence of time management skills and ability to prioritize.
