Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team on Ward 17, a 18-bedded Haematology Ward within the James Paget Hospital. The successful candidate will have a strong clinical knowledge base and be able to work well within a team to provide excellent nursing care to patients with malignant and non-malignant blood disorders, cancers, and general medicine.
Main Responsibilities
- To assess the care needs of patients and implement care plans without direct supervision, ensuring that agreed standards of nursing practice are maintained.
- To ensure that all Trust, Divisional, and Ward/Department Health & Safety Policies are adhered to, and to maintain personal contact with patients, other healthcare disciplines, relatives, and visitors.
- To undertake further training to administer Systemic anti-cancer therapies and provide out-of-hours advice via the acute oncology/haematology 24-hour phone line.
Professional Development
The successful candidate will be expected to participate in Personal Development Planning, keep abreast of current trends and developments within nursing, and undertake specific projects requested by the Ward/Department Manager.

- Acute NHS experience

- 1 year post-registration experience
- Intravenous Drug Administration
