Job description

About the role:


This position involves collaborating within a designated region under the guidance of the Additional Learning Needs (ALN) Casework Manager, providing essential support to various educational institutions and settings.

As a Family Liaison Officer, you will offer assistance and direction to families of children and young individuals with Additional Learning Needs, ensuring compliance with all statutory timelines concerning the formulation of Individual Development Plans (IDPs).


About you:
We seek individuals with experience in engaging with a diverse range of professionals and external organizations. A solid understanding of both external and internal policies and practices related to Additional Learning Needs is essential. You should possess a genuine commitment and enthusiasm for this service area, coupled with a strong motivation to achieve better outcomes for families.
What you will do:
  • Provide families with comprehensive information and guidance on various issues pertaining to Additional Learning Needs, including directing them to appropriate agencies.
  • Ensure that parents, caregivers, and children are central to all planning and review processes.
  • Act as the primary contact for families engaged with the service within the region.
  • Coordinate all necessary advice and reports to facilitate informed decision-making within ALN panels.
