Family Support Liaison Officer

To work collaboratively within a regional team under the leadership of the Additional Learning Needs (ALN) Casework Manager, providing support to a group of schools and settings.
As a Family Liaison Officer, you will provide guidance and support to families of children and young people with ALN, ensuring that all statutory timescales are met in relation to the drawing up of the individual development plan (IDP).
About YouExperience of liaising with various professionals and outside agencies is essential. A working knowledge of external and internal policy and practice relating to ALN is also required. A commitment and enthusiasm for the service area, with a strong drive to secure improved outcomes, is essential.
Key Responsibilities- Provide families with information and guidance on a range of issues relating to ALN, including signposting to relevant agencies.
- Ensure that parents/carers and children and young people are at the centre of all planning and reviews.
- Act as the main point of contact for families known to the service within a region.
- Coordinate all advice and reports as required to inform decision-making within ALN panels.
