Substance Use Specialist for Children and Young People

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and enthusiastic individual to be part of our new children and young people's substance use service in Oxfordshire. As part of the new Cranstoun Here4YOUth service, you will provide a range of tailored interventions with young people depending upon their presenting drug of choice, complexity and need. You will also provide support and build resilience with children and young people whose parents or other family members use drugs or alcohol.

Key Responsibilities
  • You will be responsible for holding and managing a caseload of children & young people across the South Oxfordshire area. You will be based at various children and family centres, engaging with young people where they feel most comfortable, including schools, colleges, other partner agencies and local community venues.
  • Working with a trauma-informed approach, you will provide specialist assessments, care planning, and deliver evidence-based psychosocial brief and structured interventions through one-to-one appointments, groups, and online. You will work closely with a range of partner agencies to support young people to achieve positive change whilst providing opportunities to improve their life chances for a brighter future.
  • We combine proven expertise in working with young people and substance use with the latest evidence and innovative approaches to ensure the service is effective and makes a difference to the lives of young people and their families.
