About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Assistant to join our community team in Whitby and the North Yorkshire Moors, providing specialist palliative care and support to patients with life-limiting illness and their families.

Job Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and compassionate individual to make a real difference in the lives of patients and their loved ones. As a Healthcare Assistant, you will work closely with our team to provide high-quality care and support, promoting independence and quality of life for those in need.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist palliative care and support to patients with life-limiting illness and their families.
  • Work closely with our team to develop and implement individualized care plans, promoting independence and quality of life.
  • Monitor symptoms, assist with medications, and keep detailed records of patient care.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and their families, promoting dignity and respect.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care and support.

Requirements:

  • Relevant community experience and a strong understanding of palliative care principles.
  • Emotional strength and ability to work independently, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification.
  • Functional skills in numeracy and literacy or equivalent.
