About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Autism Practitioner to join our team in Suffolk County Council's Adult Social Care Mental Health, Learning Disability, and Autism Service.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the team's work, ensuring that they meet Suffolk County Council's statutory duties under relevant legislation and guidance for adults with support needs and their carers.

This includes leading collaboration with statutory, private, and voluntary services to deliver an effective joint response, providing the right information, advice, and enablement to young people.

  • Promote intervention that strengthens independence and support networks, maintains wellbeing, and contributes to desired outcomes including multiagency safeguarding and risk management.
  • Ensure that the team has the necessary skills and qualifications to perform their roles effectively.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a Social Work qualification recognized by Social Work England and Social Work England registration.

A passion for embracing new/innovative ways of working, including digital technology, is essential.

To be skilled at assessing and working with risk, being risk positive where appropriate.
