About the Role

The Dorset Council is seeking a skilled Children and Young People Night Practitioner to join our team. This role involves providing a safe and nurturing environment for children and young people with disabilities, ensuring they reach their full potential.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting young people, shares our core values, and celebrates differences. As a Children and Young People Night Practitioner, you will support young people with their night time routines, goals, and needs, as well as help children develop their life skills.

About You:

You will be a naturally caring person who can form and maintain positive relationships with our children, young people, and families, as well as partner agencies and allocated social workers who form a team around the child.

You will be ambitious for our children, creative, and passionate to ensure children and young people who are disabled are supported to achieve the best outcomes and provide them with opportunities to flourish.

Responsibilities

  • Support children and young people with their night time routines, goals, and needs
  • Help children develop their life skills
  • Form and maintain positive relationships with our children, young people, and families
  • Collaborate with partner agencies and allocated social workers

Requirements

  • Naturally caring and empathetic towards children and young people
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible in approach to meet individual needs
  • Passionate about supporting young people and achieving best outcomes
  • Hold or be willing to obtain Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare within two years

Salary and Benefits

This role comes with a competitive salary of £28,000 - £30,000 per annum, plus an hourly pay enhancement for waking night shifts. In addition, you will have access to a range of employee benefits, including flexible working hours, comprehensive training, and opportunities for career progression.
