Dorset Council Youth Support Worker

We are looking for dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team of support professionals at Dorset Council, working with children and young people who are disabled at Chestnut House in Weymouth.
About the RoleThe role of a Support Professional is highly rewarding, providing daily support to children in their lives, creating a positive and safe environment for them to grow and develop.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting children in developing essential skills such as cooking, cleaning, and personal care, promoting independence.
- Organising and participating in engaging activities such as gardening, swimming, art, and community trips to parks, beaches, or shopping centres.
- Creating a welcoming and non-clinical environment, working closely with other team members, families, and external agencies to provide exceptional care.
Dorset Council offers an extensive induction and training program, including a Level 4 Certificate in Therapeutic Care where required.
