We produce a diverse programme of events, professional training, publications, awards, and environmental policy work to support this mission.

The Role:

This is an exciting time to join CIWEM as we have an established, industry-recognised events portfolio that we are looking to significantly develop and grow. We are seeking a strategic and dynamic individual who can develop and deliver an inspiring, inclusive, accessible, and creative events programme. Under your leadership, our flagship 3-day event Flood & Coast will continue to thrive. You will grow our portfolio of hybrid and virtual events to provide opportunities for our members and beyond to network, learn, and share ideas. You need to be a motivated leader to drive forward the strategic evolution of our events, setting the events team up for success in all areas of delivery.

You will be joining a team poised to take our events to the next level. Your management and leadership will help unlock the skills and motivations within the team and evolve the way we approach events to enable scaling of our ever-increasing portfolio of events. With direct line management of an events team of three and ownership of relationships with our strategic partners, contractors, and key stakeholders, communication and agility are core parts of this role.

  1. 360 Event Ownership: Take the lead in producing the event scope, content, and programme, growing revenue, and expanding the audience across our flagship events, managing key partners and stakeholders ensuring high-quality delivery and post-event reporting.
  2. Cross-Department Collaboration: Partner with CIWEM teams to build relationships with key partners and suppliers to ensure successful event delivery.
  3. Quality Content: Work closely with the Policy to Practice team and event advisory committees to enable networking and recruitment of industry-leading speakers, ambassadors, moderators, and panel chairs to deliver exceptional content. Develop new, interactive features and formats that add significant value to our events prioritising an inclusive and accessible experience for all attendees.
  4. Leadership: Take the lead on developing and executing the events strategy, with the support of the events team. Using insights and data to discover opportunities for delivering new and current events, enhancing attendee engagement and experience, and driving growth. Inspire and empower the wider events team through a collaborative leadership approach that prioritises individual achievement as part of overall team success.
  5. Experienced Event Professional: 4 years+ experience of industry-leading event management at a senior level from conception and ideation to delivery with a proven track record.
