About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced nurse to join our team as a Medical Secretary in the Short Stay Surgical Unit at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate patient care on the wards, ensuring a smooth and efficient patient journey from admission to discharge.
  • Complete thorough nursing assessments and patient feedback surveys to inform care delivery.
  • Participate in audits and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Supervise and mentor Trainee Apprentices, Trainee CSWs, and students, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
  • Act as a role model, demonstrating excellent clinical skills and a commitment to patient-centered care.
  • Collaborate with a large multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care and services.

Requirements
  • First-level registered nurse registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
  • Post-registration experience in a surgical or acute setting is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and manage time effectively.
  • Knowledge of research and its application in developing nursing care and clinical products.
