Educational Support Staff Required in West Cumbria

An opportunity has arisen for an educational support staff member to join a specialist secondary school and pupil referral unit in Whitehaven, West Cumbria. The ideal candidate will have a background in supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH) and be able to work effectively in small class sizes.

About the Position

The successful candidate will work under the supervision of teachers to provide specialist support and maximize pupil development and achievement. This may involve developing and delivering learning activities for individuals and groups of pupils, adapting programmes to meet the needs of allocated pupils.

Job Description
  • Provide support for pupils with SEMH needs.
  • Develop and deliver tailored learning programmes to meet the needs of individual pupils.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to apply for one.
  • Professional references checks.
  • CV with at least 10 years of employment/education history and explanation of any employment breaks.
  • Literacy and numeracy skills at Level 2 or above.

Estimated salary: £18,000 - £22,000 per annum based on a 38-hour week, depending on experience.
