About the Role:

TeacherActive is proud to be working with schools in Stoke-on-Trent that support vulnerable children with Special Needs, ranging from Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) to Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
  • Develop and implement individualized lesson plans to meet the needs of students
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to ensure a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Provide behavioral support and interventions to students as needed
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to ensure a smooth transition between home and school

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • 6 months previous experience working with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
  • A calming and caring demeanor
  • Flexibility to cover classes last minute
  • Ability to plan and adapt lesson activities and resources to meet the needs of individual students
  • Effective behavior management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
