Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated SEN Teacher to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for providing high-quality education and support to students with Special Educational Needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lesson Planning and Delivery: Develop and deliver engaging and effective lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students with SEN.
  • Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to students and parents/guardians.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with the SENCO and other support staff to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Record Keeping and Administration: Maintain accurate records of student attendance, behavior, and academic performance.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience working with students with Special Educational Needs.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Strong understanding of SEN Code of Practice and relevant legislation, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Postgraduate Qualification: Postgraduate qualification in Special Educational Needs.
  • Training and Experience: Training in Makaton, PECS, or other communication systems, and experience working with students with complex needs.
Working Conditions:
  • Work Environment: Work in a school setting with classroom and individual student support.
  • Interactions: Regular interaction with students, parents, and other professionals.
  • Compliance: Compliance with school policies and procedures related to safeguarding and SEN provision.
