Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Herd Manager to join our team at Homer Farming in Savernake, Marlborough. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the dairy herd, ensuring optimal milk production and animal welfare.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily milking process, ensuring efficient and safe operation of the 2448 Waikato Swing-over parlour.
- Monitor and maintain the health and well-being of the dairy herd, implementing measures to prevent disease and promote animal welfare.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve milk production and quality, working closely with the farm team to achieve targets.
- Collaborate with the farm management team to plan and execute farm operations, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need a strong background in dairy farming, excellent leadership and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
