About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Applewood, a residential home for adults with disabilities. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our residents, enabling them to lead fulfilling and valued lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide person-centered care and support to residents with autism, learning disabilities, mental health conditions, and visual impairments.
  • Assist with daily living tasks, such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, their families, and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in shift rota, working a variety of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and evenings, including weekends and bank holidays.
  • Contribute to a safe and supportive environment, adhering to health and safety protocols and reporting any incidents or concerns.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve high-quality care and support, sharing knowledge and best practices.
Requirements
  • Hold a UK driving license and be willing to use the company vehicle.
  • Have a caring and compassionate nature, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be able to demonstrate empathy and understanding when working with residents who may exhibit challenging behaviors.
  • Be flexible and willing to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
  • Hold a valid DBS check and be willing to undergo further vetting checks.
